Responsible Reading in Middle School:

I tell our students that if a book makes them uncomfortable or it would make their parents uncomfortable, please return it and find a book they can completely enjoy.  I encourage parents and students to have discussions at home about what students are reading and practice self-censorship so that we can all enjoy the books we select.  I use a wide range of book review sources to form a decision before adding it to our shelves.
